“Drama and History work like the Courage of Conscience work, gives all children a more level playing field from which to be able to write. They have all felt and experienced the same events. It gives them something to refer to internally. That's why your drama and history package will work in ANY context and will have successful outcomes. “

In 2014 the Heritage Lottery Fund awarded Chesterfield Propeace a £10,000 First World War grant to carry out their Courage of Conscience project. Part of the project was about engaging children and young people, so they commissioned Gertie Whitfield to create and trial a primary school and secondary school scheme of work.
The secondary school resource is a History scheme of work.
The primary school resource is a PSHE, English and History Resource.
The resources encourage students to explore all sides of the issue through critical thinking exercises.
