· the intersection of local and global history; decolonising history;

Professor Julia Hirst researches and teaches health, wellbeing and education, with specific interest in sexualities, sexual health and gender, relationships and sexualities education, young people and qualitative research methodologies. This work is informed by feminist theories of embodiment, sexualities and power.

Whitworks Adventures in Theatre (WAT)
Gertie Whitfield has over 30 years in the secondary and primary classroom delivering Drama, English, History and PSHE. Gertie has also been an Advisory teacher for Healthy Schools and Derbyshire Education Improvement Service. Working with various universities and communities, Gertie has developed many resources for primary and secondary schools.

Paul Whitfield is a writer and playwright with a long and proven track record of writing for young people. Recent writing has mostly been creative non-fiction based on historical research. Previously a Drama teacher and Director of a Theatre in Education company, he has completed an MA by Research with Sheffield Hallam.
